Appleby Horse Fair
(2nd- 9th June 2010)
This is probably one of the best known horse fairs in Cumbria and is ideal for all those horse enthusiasts out there. Horses are as far as the eye can see, from the youngsters washing them in the River Eden ready to show them, to the roadside and tethered outside hotels. Barrow’s Annual Festival of the sea
(19th-20th June 2010)
Barrow Festival of the Sea is a celebration of 50 years of Nuclear Submarine building and also incorporates Armed forces Day and the National Jet Ski Championships. The Devonshire Dock Hall is where visitors will be able to see current submarines being built. But not only is this festival for the die-hard nautical fans, it also hosts a funfair, surf simulator, Punch and Judy Shows, face painting and much more. Hadrian’s Wall Path National Trail
(All year round)
Hadrian’s Wall is a sign posted trail stretching from coast to coast, racking up an impressive 73miles, starting at Wallsend near Newcastle and ending in Bowness-on-Solway in North West Cumbria. It is one of most important monument built in Britain by the Romans and is a great reminder of our past glories as one of the world’s greatest empires. Half Term Activity Week in Ulverston
(Tuesday 1st- Friday 4th June 2010, 10am-3pm daily)

Windermere’s Summer Solstice Lake Race

Saturday is Race Day and teams from schools, clubs and centres are all invited to take part.
